It's one of the questions we hear more and more often: "Can I use my HSA card to pay for my massage?"
For many clients, the answer is YES!
We've successfully processed HSA cards for massage therapy, and many people are surprised to learn they may already have funds available to help cover the cost of their care.

What is an HSA?
A Health Savings Account (HSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified healthcare expenses. Depending on your plan, massage therapy may qualify, particularly when it's part of a treatment plan or recommended to help address pain, injury, recovery, or other health concerns.
What types of massage might qualify?
Many people seek massage therapy for reasons beyond relaxation, including:
Chronic neck and back pain
Muscle tension
Sports recovery
Stress management
Headaches
Postural discomfort from desk work
Pregnancy-related discomfort (prenatal massage)
Recovery after surgery or injury, when appropriate
Every HSA Plan is Different
While we've successfully accepted HSA cards from many clients, every HSA administrator and insurance plan has its own rules. Some plans approve massage therapy automatically, while others may require additional documentation or a Letter of Medical Necessity from your healthcare provider. If you're unsure, we recommend contacting your HSA provider before your appointment.
Bring Your HSA Card
If you've been thinking about scheduling a massage but weren't sure whether your HSA could help cover the cost, bring your HSA card with you or give us a call before your appointment.
We're always happy to answer questions and help make the process as smooth as possible.
Your health is an investment—and if your HSA benefits can help you feel better, we want you to know it's an option worth exploring.
